I have a new class for the summer semester at Lifelong Learning: Exploring the Cosmati Pavement of Westminster Abbey with Geometric Drawing. In this class we'll be learning a little about the Cosmati Pavement of Westminster Abbey (that thing the thrones were on for King Charles' coronation last year) and we will be using the traditional tools: ruler and compass to draw some of the patterns that can be found in the pavement, like the one below. Don't miss out!

I'm excited to share that my painting The Meaning of All Things, is now included in the Book of Mormon Art Catalog.
Hello everyone, I'm going to try something new and keep information for upcoming shows, classes, etc. here. To that end, I currently have one online class, and a few upcoming in person classes. My online class, Geometry - Drawing with a Ruler and Compass is available from my Thinkific site. This class is prerecorded so you can take it whenever, wherever and work at your own pace. The class is designed to be an introduction to the wonderful world of geometric drawing, etc. The class covers familiarity with tools, dividing a circle to create geometric shapes, and creating some of the grids at the heart of countless geometric designs and patterns. The class concludes with a fun fractal design (where the design repeats as it grows bigger or smaller). I also teach some in-person classes in Utah's Wasatch Front. I have a bookbinding and a geometry class coming up with the University of Utah's Lifelong Learning program. Class offerings change by the semester.
I'm starting to host some classes independently, I recently held a bookbinding "make and take" at the Provo City Library and am looking into holding a similar class again soon. I may also host some classes in Salt Lake City in the coming months. If you're interested, please reach out to learn more. |
